Lingua 2 offers an alternative way for reaching the world for Jesus. "Lingua" is Latin for "language" and the number "2" designates using language in an alternative way. Each of the following ministries is using our ability to speak as opportunity to tell others about God's amazing grace.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Nearly a quarter of the human population speaks English as either a first or second language. Very soon, the number of people speaking English as a second language will outnumber those who speak English as a first language. Spread Truth Ministries sees this as an opportunity to share Christ with a large segment of the world's population. Here's how. As many countries accept English as a primary or secondary speaking language, the demand for English-speaking teachers constantly increases. For those countries, which might be closed to Christian missionaries, we see the ability to speak English as a means of sharing our faith AND helping impoverished people groups learn a language, which might just help them out of their impoverished situation.

We illustrate our point with the following example:

A young girl in a foreign country resorts to prostitution in order to raise money for her family. Jobs are available for people her age who can speak English (even if it's broken English). She hates her lifestyle, but she doesn't have the ability to speak English...
