Focus SpreadTruth's three main purposes are to equip the local church and believers with: (Click each of the three above to link to more info on each of the three!)  History SpreadTruth (originally named NYC Ministries) had its original beginnings in the summer of 1994, when a local church in Normal, Illinois, sent 25 college students to the parks of New York City to conduct a religious questionnaire giving them the opportunity to share their faith and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The trip was a success, not just for the Kingdom but for those that attended. And thus began an annual mission trip to New York City. By the summer of 2000, trip attendance had grown to over 175 people. Through much prayer and counsel, four people with a desire to see Christians sharing the gospel incorporated NYC Ministries, Inc. on February 21, 2001. The organization was and is led by a Board of Directors and supported by the donations of God's people. The organization received federal tax-exemption (501(c)3) status in the summer of 2002. As ministry began to expand beyond New York, we knew the time was right to change the name to something that embraced our expanded vision. With recent teams sent to help with Hurricane Katrina affected areas, basketball camps, English as a second language programs in various cities in the U.S. and abroad, NYC Ministries was getting bigger as God was expanding the impact. In 2006, NYC Ministries was officially renamed SpreadTruth. SpreadTruth now longs to equip the local church to reach the world with the Gospel.
